The scotch bonnet is a popular chile used in Caribbean, African, and Haitian cuisine. A necessary ingredient in the always-popular jerk seasoning it is a useful pepper to keep on hand. For those unaware, this pepper is around ten times hotter than a serrano pepper.

Recommended ApplicationsScotch Bonnet Peppers can be added to casseroles, vegetables, stews, or soups. Great when used to make hot sauces, dips, relishes, and condiments.
Basic PreparationRinse Scotch Bonnets with warm water first. To rehydrate, let soak in hot water for 10 minutes. Next, add to any recipe where the product will cook a minimum of 10 minutes. You may also, after rehydration, dice or puree before adding to your recipe.
